Neil Patrick Harris is back with a new web series.

No, it’s not the highly anticipated return of Dr. Horrible, this time the one-time Dougie Houser M.D. is kickin’ it with singing puppets.

Neil’s Puppet Dreams made its debut online Tuesday. The 4-minute first episode features the How I Met Your Mother star and his real-life partner, David Burtka, as they put their children to bed. Neil then falls asleep and suffers a nightmarish fall through the sky.

To help calm his nerves – but not really – is a trio of singing puppets that include a flying horse, a girl and a beaver.

The lyrics of the tune, The Lullabye, are not quite comforting and the whole short bit is pretty funny.

The puppets are brought to life thanks to the brilliance of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, with Henson’s son, Brian, as one of the performers. The episode is also directed by Kirk R. Thatcher (who directed The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, and who also happens to be the punk rocker given the Vulcan neck pinch by Spock in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home).

Make sure you take a moment to read the credits, which go by in a blink so you’ll have to click the play/pause button to see them all. They are a great homage to the Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker ‘Naked Gun’ movies and are loaded with fake and funny credits.
