First Look: ‘A-Team’ van
Set shots reveal retro look of mercenary’s new ride

Looks like the planned big screen debut of The A-Team is starting off on the right foot—by staying true to at least one aspect of the classic television series.

Not that there is much in the somewhat goofy action series to stay true to.

Splash News nabbed the set pics of the van. There’s one you can see here, but for more click over to their site and check them out.

With the black body and red stripe, it appears the van has remained faithful to the one seen in the series. Somehow I imagine it’s a little more sophisticated in other ways, however.

There hasn’t been much in terms of the storyline for the flick, aside from the logical need to update it from the group being Vietnam vets to soldiers who fought in Iraq. What we do know is casting, which has Liam Neeson taking on the role of Hannibal (the cigar-chomping role made famous by the indelible George Peppard); Bradley Cooper, who enjoyed The Hangover success this summer, as Face; and relative unknowns Sharlto Copley as Murdoch and Quinton ’Rampage’ Jackson as B.A. Baracus (the role that made the mohawked Mr. T a household name).

Rounding out the cast is the always sexy Jessica Biel.

The A-Team is being directed by Joe Carnahan, of Smokin’ Aces and the excellent, Narc. Apparently the tone will not follow suit with many of the other films based off 80s television series, promising to be more straight than silly.

The A-Team hits theaters on June 11, 2010.

Michael Sheridan has written, directed and produced more than a dozen short films under the banner of Maynard Films, and has worked as a writer for more than a decade for websites, magazines and newspapers.
