A boy befriends a dragon in How to Train Your Dragon.
Vikings, dragons, action—oh my.
To be honest, I thought Kung Fu Panda deserved the Oscar last year—sorry, Pixar—and the idea that they’re bringing dragons and vikings to life with this animation just impresses me to no end.
Although I’ll bow to Pixar’s incredibly imaginative stories—Up will deservedly take the crown this year—Dreamworks is really catching up in terms of the sheer beauty of their work. These films are looking better and better. Hopefully How to Train Your Dragon will prove just as entertaining.
The film is based upon the 2003 children’s book by Cressida Cowell, and is part of a series featuring, Hiccup, a young Viking. The boy befriends a dragon, which is of course tricky, since this particular tribe of vikings slay dragons.
