Sylvester Stallone stars, co-wrote and directed The Expendables.
Rarely has a trailer every elicited such excitement for a film out of me as watching the one for The Expendables.
Its cast is incredible, with a list of action stars from the 1980s mixed in with some members of a newer generation. Among them:
Sylvester Stallone
Jason Statham
Jet Li
Dolph Lundgren
Eric Roberts
Steve Austin
Mickey Rourke
However, its the cameos by two others that really make this a great flick—and had me literally cheer half way through the trailer: Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who makes a return to the big screen.
Didn’t realize just how much I missed that big Austrian until now. My hope is that when his Governorship is over, he’ll still have enough left in him for a few more big screen appearances.
As for The Expendables, Schwarzenegger and Willis have small roles in a film starring (co-written & directed) by Stallone, as the leader of a mercenary force who get in over their heads.
Watch the trailer below, and tell me this isn’t the film to see this summer.
