Those looking for a little intel about this Sunday’s 61st annual Primetime Emmy Awards should look to the Creative Arts Emmys handed out over the weekend.
During the ceremony, which handed out statuettes that won’t be announced during the live ceremony, Tina Fey was honored as guest actress in a comedy series for her spoof of Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live,” while Justin Timberlake won for his guest host appearance on the show.
In the guest drama categories, Ellen Burstyn won for her spot on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” This means that the Oscar- and Tony-winner has now won the acting triple crown.
Michael J. Fox for his recurring role on “Rescue Me,” bringing his total collection to five career Emmys.
“Pushing Daisies” and “Grey Gardens” were also among the night’s big winners with three wins apiece.
“Wizards of Waverly Place” beat out fellow Disney program, “Hannah Montana” for Outstanding Children’s Program, while A&E’s “Intervention” topped the reality program category, besting such shows as “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List.”
The 61st annual Primetime Emmys air live on CBS Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. EST.
