The Man of Steel has his Lois Lane, and she’s Enchanted.

Oscar nominee Amy Adams will play the intrepid Daily Planet reporter and love of Superman’s life in the upcoming reboot from director Zach Snyder and Dark Knight filmmaker Chris Nolan.

“There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder said, according to The Los Angeles Times’ Hero Complex blog. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role.”

The Sucker Punch helmsman said many actresses were auditioned, “but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”

The Fighter actress will join Brit Henry Cavill, who was cast as Clark Kent earlier this year. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will portray Superman’s adopted parents.

Chatter has floated several names as the Man of Steel’s possible nemesis in the film. The villain may be Zod, who was featured in Superman II as well as the Smallville TV series, but it’s still up in the air if Snyder and Nolan will go with a lesser-known baddie. Lex Luthor is also a possibility, but I would think he’d be a tired out villain since his character has been featured is so may of the Superman films, including the most recent Superman Returns.

I have to say, the casting of this reboot has been pretty impressive. Cavill is fairly unknown so still a bit of a question mark, but every other choice has been top notch. Not sure why, but I really think Kevin Costner as Pa Kent was perfect.

What do you all think?
